MELANIE LYNN’S OFFICIAL WEB SITE Welcome, my name is Melanie Lynn. I am a vocalist, musician and songwriter. My first experience with singing was at the age of 4 in my local church choir. I have written poetry nearly all my life and began to put my words to music when I was able to get myself atop the piano bench by myself without falling off. My favorite musical style is Rhythm & Blues. I have been influenced by artists such as Etta James, Tracy Chapman, Sarah McLachlan, Paula Cole, Bob Dylan, and especially Bonnie Raitt. I have had the privilege of sitting in with several Pittsburgh musicians, the “Blues Man” Bobby Hawkins, Billy Rapp & the Messengers, Jeff Bell with the incredible “Chizmo Charles”, and “The Buddy Hinds Band”. My goals have changed somewhat since I completed my first CD, Beyond The Tears, in 2000. Since I opted to retire from the Airline Industry in 2003, I have been in college and in pursuit of an alternate and more direct path to satisfy my musical passion. I continue to record my music, but now I am able to do it myself using my own home studio. How fantastic it is to learn how to do this! Recording is as euphoric as the writing itself, if not more! I plan to major in Mass Communication, which should ultimately create the opportunity for me to open the door to the exciting world of Mass Media or Radio and Television.
